Non-City projects requiring travel restrictions
2008 Street Resurfacing Program
- Table Mesa Drive between Broadway and Vassar Drive will have intermittent daytime lane closure from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the week of Sept. 8.
- This project encompasses asphalt overlay and major street reconstruction, significantly reducing the number of potholes and other types of pavement deterioration and will extend the life of the street.

2008 Sidewalk Repair Program
- The general area surrounded by Baseline Road, Foothills Parkway and U.S. 36 will experience sidewalk repair operations that will result in intermittent street, sidewalk and multi-use path closures from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. starting Monday, Aug. 18.
- These moving operations will also include some parking restrictions as well as temporary restricted driveway access.
- These closures are applicable while city crews remove and replace damaged sidewalks, and install pedestrian ramps.
- This project is expected to be complete by early November.

2008 South Boulder Waterline Replacement
- There will be intermittent lane closures on S. 46th Street between Table Mesa and Brookfield drives from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- For the week of Sept. 1, work will necessitate a full closure of South 46th Street between Darley Drive and Whitney Place during work hours.
- Traffic control personnel will be present to direct roadway users.
- No parking will be permitted where posted during working hours.
- Vehicles left will be towed at the owner's expense.
- The restrictions are necessary while crews work to replace waterlines in the area.
- City of Boulder water customers will be notified in advance of any possible water outages.
- Customers in the area may experience "rusty water" during construction. To clear out rusty water, run a cold water tap until clear.
- The waterline replacement will improve water quality and the flow of water in the area.

West College Underpass Extension Project
- The RTD bus stop on southbound 28th Street,
south of Colorado Avenue, will be temporarily closed with transit
riders directed to use the bus stop on 28th Street, north of Colorado
Avenue.
- This project will provide facilities and improvements for bicyclists, pedestrians and transit users traveling in this area.

2008 East Boulder Waterline Replacement Project
- There will be intermittent single-lane closures in the general area of Central Avenue at its intersection with Flatiron Parkway from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Traffic control personnel will be present to direct users around roadway work.
- There will also be parking restrictions where posted; vehicles left will be towed at the owners expense.
- City of Boulder water customers will be notified in advance if any water service outages occur.
- These closures are applicable while city contracted crews replace a corroded waterline in the area.
- This project is expected to be complete by early July.
- The waterline replacement will greatly improve the water distribution system and water quality in the industrial park.

North Broadway Improvements Project - Iris to Norwood
- Motorists can expect intermittent daytime lane closures in both directions on Broadway between Linden and Iris avenues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Pedestrian detours will also be in place. These closures are necessary while crews begin underground utility work
- This advance work will prepare for the construction of the North Broadway Transportation Improvements Project, which will install bicycle lanes on Broadway from Iris to Norwood avenues as well as other pedestrian and transit stop improvements.

Large summer projects (BVSD, Xcel, Qwest) intermittent lane closures city-wide
These three projects will generate a variety of related work in various locations all over the city, which will create traffic impacts and continue for several months. Locations will vary as each project continues. Please contact the associated organization for project specifics and updates.
- Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) Fiber Optic Installation: Intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday throughout the city of Boulder.
- The sidewalk on the east side on 19th Street between Norwood and Oak avenues will be closed the week of Aug. 25.

- Xcel SmartGrid work: Intermittent lane closures Monday through Saturday throughout the city of Boulder. This work includes tree trimming and aerial pole prep work.

Broadway bike path closure
The Baseline/Broadway bike path along the CU-Boulder campus will be closed to install a gateway sign for CU-Boulder and to improve the bikeway connection to Broadway at the Baseline intersection. The porject is expected to be complete by the end of September.

CDOT signal pole replacement projects
- Motorists can expect intermittent daytime lane closures approaching the intersection of 28th Street at Canyon Boulevard from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8.
- Some sidewalk closures may be necessary, and pedestrian detours will be in place.
- All closures will be clearly marked, using variable message boards to alert motorists.
- Signal pole replacement is expected to be complete after Monday's work.

Lane and sidewalk closures on 15th Street
- The Southbound right-turn lane on 15th Street between Grove Street and Arapahoe Avenue will be closed 24 hours a day through Dec. 31, 2008;
- In addition, the sidewalk on the west side of 15th Street will also be closed during the same time period;
- Detours will be established;
- Travelers are asked to use caution while moving through the area; and
- The closures are necessary while a private contractor works on property in the area.

Lane and sidewalk closures near Canyon Boulevard and 11th Street
- Southbound 11th Street and the sidewalk between Walnut Street and Canyon Blvd. as well as the westbound sidewalk on Canyon Blvd. between 11th and 9th streets will be closed 24 hours a day through the end of February 2009.
- Pedestrian and bicycle detours will be in place. The closures are necessary while a private contractor works on property in the area.
